History
Since its grand opening for a “Holiday on Ice” show on October 29, 1959, the Greensboro Coliseum Complex has evolved into one of the most unique sports, entertainment and convention facilities in the country.

The complex opened in 1959 with the construction of the Greensboro Coliseum, a 12,000-seat arena that is still in use today. In 1961, the complex was expanded with the addition of the Greensboro Municipal Auditorium, which has since been demolished. In 1974, the complex underwent another expansion with the construction of the Greensboro War Memorial Auditorium, which was later renamed the Greensboro Special Events Center. The complex has also hosted a number of other facilities over the years, including an amphitheater, a convention center, and a museum. In recent years, the complex has undergone extensive renovations, including the addition of a new hotel and convention center. The Greensboro Coliseum Complex is now one of the largest and most popular sports and entertainment venues in the southern United States.

Greensboro Coliseum also features state-of-the-art LED infinity video scoreboards and ribbon boards by Daktronics.
